Flat Head or Near Edge Thermal Ribbons?
Most thermal printers work on two very similar principles of image processing. In a nutshell heat is transferred through the film via a ceramic bar which is charged with heat at the appropriate time to form the image. The heat is used to momentarily soften the ink on the film, and allow it to transfer to the substrate that is being printed on.
There are two distinctly different style of print heads used to process the image in the is way, called near Edge, and Flat head. The key difference is the position of the ceramic cells that transfer the image and the angle at which it sits on the substrate. Generally speaking Near Edge technology is more commonly found in Industrial type printers such as Toshiba's SX range, but is also found in some Markem printers, Avery Dennison, Videojet and Bell Mark.
Zebra and Sato printers, which are probably amongst the most commonly used printers in Australia, use flat head technology. We supply ribbons to suit all technologies and all print heads. To protect the print head and maximize its longevity, the ribbon should be 2mm wider than the media on both sides
2.Method of Installation
When loading, to meet the demands of printing, you must choose the ribbon with paint face rolled inward or outward.
3.Storage and transportation
Please avoid direct sunlight and keep it cool. The storage temperature is -5-49℃and the storage humidity is 25%-80% Humidity Rate. The ribbon should be kept in plastic packing to avoid damage during shipment.
