To meet the requirements of different printed materials and durability, thermal transfer ribbons can be divided into three types: wax-based, wax/resin mixed, and resin-based, depending on the coating material.
a) Wax-based: usually with high density and high sensitivity, using paper labels, excellent printing effect and economical cost.
Universal wax-based thermal transfer ribbons are suitable for most thermal transfer printers. In the case of low energy consumption, this high-sensitivity ribbon can still achieve excellent printing density and clarity. The printing speed can reach 200mm/s . Thermal resistance: 100 ℃, printing materials: coated paper, coated paper, melting point: 65 ℃. Enhanced wax-based thermal transfer ribbon printing speed can reach 250mm/s. Melting point: 80 ℃.
b) Mixed base: It has both high-quality printing effects and durability, and is widely used with good price and efficiency.
Wax/resin mixed-based ribbons have high sensitivity: less consumption and slower printhead life. Thermal resistance: 100 ℃, printing speed: 250mm/s, printing materials: coated paper, coated paper, PVC, PET, PE, PP, melting point: 75 ℃. The edge-strengthened wax/resin mixed-based carbon ribbon is suitable for edge-pressure printers, compatible with a variety of label papers, and has the characteristics of anti-fouling and scratch resistance. Printing speed: 300mm/s, melting point: 80 ℃.
c) Resin-based: the most durable, abrasion-resistant, heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, some formulas can prevent steam pressure, and some can be washed or dry cleaned.
The enhanced resin-based thermal transfer ribbon is suitable for flat-head printheads. With low energy consumption, the printing speed can reach 200mm/s. The printing resolution can reach 200DPI to 300DPI. Thermal resistance: 100 ℃, printing speed: 200mm/s, printing materials: PVC, PET, PE, PP, melting point: 80 ℃. The edge-strengthened resin-based carbon ribbon is suitable for edge-pressure printers. In the case of low energy consumption, the unique back coating technology makes printing more flexible and easy, and even prints rotated 90 degrees. Thermal resistance: 180 ℃, printing speed: 200mm/s, melting point: 80 ℃.
